Generator Technician

Job Description

Seeking to hire a full time generator technician who can perform troubleshooting on Commercial & Residential Standby Emergency Generator Systems.

Employment Type: Full-time

Education / Training

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Training from accredited technical school in gaseous or diesel engines or prior job experience with diesel or gas engines.
  • Willing and able to travel for further training specific to the generator industry as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform major and minor preventative maintenance on most generator models.
  • Perform startups on new equipment from various manufacturers.
  • Perform portable load banking on equipment.
  • Identify additional preventative maintenance needs including replacement of belts, hoses, and batteries.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform repairs on all components of generators, engines, and automatic transfer switches as necessary.
  • Be able to effectively communicate to customers findings and conclusions of troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs.
  • Able to turn in all paperwork to the service department within 24 hours of the job completion.
  • Take care of company issued property.

Qualifications:

  • Have a valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Safely operate a service vehicle.
  • Time and activity management skills.
  • Good character and core values.
  • Ability to display professionalism and build rapport with clients.
  • Be a team player.
